Phil Petch- Head Teacher
Headteacher’s Welcome and Introduction
It is with immense pride that I have taken over the role of Headteacher here at Options Trent Acres and it gives me great joy in welcoming you to our school community. We are an Independent Special School dedicated to supporting autistic children and young people aged 5 to 19.
I have spent many years working in schools like ours as a Teacher, Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher. My experience has seen me work in maintained and independent special schools, often with an Autism specialism. My academic background includes my teacher training (QTS), Educational Psychology and Special Education. I am a qualified Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner and am currently undertaking the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leaders (NPQEL).
My aim for our school is to continue to develop the outstanding work of my predecessors. In doing so, we will continue to pride ourselves on celebrating individuality by creating a positive, safe learning environment for all. We will be relentless in promoting opportunities to nurture confidence, develop diverse skills and as a result, our pupils will be well prepared to make a valuable contribution to life in modern Britain.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
